We had a lovely time at the Beacon Hollow Farm for two nights. Ben and Anna were both so welcoming and one of their sons, David, spent a lot of time with us too. The house was big and easily accommodated me, my grown son and three Belgian teenagers in four different bedrooms. We were treated to a wonderful breakfast on Saturday morning. And made pancakes in the kitchen on Sunday morning. David gave us a tour of his beautiful new buggy which he had just purchased from savings from his fence-building job. Ben took us on a long tour of the farm. It was fascinating to see the milking operation and the collection of milk for Land o' Lakes. The farm was immaculately kept and very peaceful. We all would have been happy to spend a couple more days there!
August 30 - September 4, 2017: First, I would like to comment about both of the farms I stayed at: Beacon Hollow farm and Flower Patch Amish lodging were phenomenal. The hosts were very friendly and informative and I highly recommend booking with them if you get to visit Lancaster County PA Amish country. I enjoyed my visit to Lancaster County so much that I just wanted to stay permanently. I am already planning my return visit and hopefully one of the two places I stayed at will have availability. Second, Dave with Amish Farm stay developed a very user friendly website that allowed me to book the days I wanted and it showed me with ease the procedure in doing so. Not only that, Dave was very sufficient in booking meals for me during my stay there since I had no idea of the area. Kudos to Dave and Amish Farm Stay.
I've stayed at Beacon Hollow for the past 3 years and have enjoyed each and every stay. Our hosts have been very gracious. We have had several fabulous Amish dinners as well while we were in the area. The Amish Farm Stay website is easy to navigate and I always receive a very quick response to inquiries. I highly recommend them.
Very quick and accurate information and service. We Did a booking through the website the Amish Farm Stay and got a perfect service from Dave Hanson. We had a pleasant and interesting stay at the Dutch Homestead Guesthouse and enjoyed the Amish meal experience suggested by Dave.
We stayed at an authentic Amish Bed and Breakfast. It was absolutely amazing. Our host prepared a home cooked breakfast each morning. The fresh air was refreshing. We expected it to be hot in August, but it wasn't bad at all. The windows were always open and a breeze blew through. The nights were cool and perfect for sleeping. The bed was very comfortable. It was the perfect spot to just get away from it all and slow down. Our hosts were there to answer questions about the area as well as their way of life. You can opt for Amish dinners and/or buggy rides too. It was such a quiet, peaceful place to stay. We would highly recommend it and would stay again ourselves.
We also got to eat dinner at an Amish home which was delightful. Many of her children helped serve the meal to us and the 10 other guests. The youngest children, 2 and 4, were fun to watch and play with even though they did not speak English. Our whole stay with the Amish Farm Stay was wonderful and we all would recommend it for an interesting and relaxing look into this unique lifestyle.
